Map Information
On 21 May 2016, Tropical Cyclone ROANU-16 hit Bangladesh, especially south and southeast regions Barisal and Chittagong. Due to torrential rains the regions have been affected by landslides. The coastal flood waters that have been detected could be enlarged due to normal tidal and seasonal trends.
The present map shows the flood delineation in the area of Barguna (Bangladesh). The thematic layer has been derived from post-event satellite image using a semi-automatic approach. The estimated geometry accuracy is 20 m CE90 or better, from native positional accuracy of the background satellite image.
